Concept Aramon Capital

Aramon's capital - Kaulen

Aramon is one of the factions in Total Annihilation Kingdoms. Its Monarch is Elsin, who is the strongest.

Aramon is known for the strength of its knights and its mage archers, its strong defensive structures, and its trebuchets. Often a player has only to build trebuchets and defend them to win a game, with enough of these able to easily take out all lodestones, factories, and defensive structures of the enemy quite easily.

Aramon has the benefit of Pegasus, a flying build unit, able to get to mana sources quickly, and build lodestones there. These flying builders can also build watch towers and strongholds where ground units can not get to them, but which from their areas of placement can fire down upon their enemies. They can be used to fly about building walls about to delay enemy movements. And of course, they are able to build the most powerful weapon in the game, the trebuchet, moving within range of any enemy target quick easily to set some up.

Having the ability to easily get anywhere on the map, and build barracks, watch towers, strongholds, walls, lodestones, war galleries, and trebuchets, is a great advantage.

Lore

Aramon's strength is evident: Elsin the mage king marshals the most proficient infantry and cavalry in the world of Darien. Unfortunately, upholding the creed of his father left Aramon with somewhat lacking wizard cadre, however this was more than compensated for with advanced Aramonian technology, surpassed only by that of Creon.

Aramon has the best relations with the island nation of Veruna, although the two kingdoms had a number of trifles in the past, their mutual friendship, stemming in part from the respect for their father, remained strong. Indeed Veruna assisted Aramon in designing the only warship they have- the War galley.

On the other hand relations with Taros are far more inimical. Lokken's liberal use of magic at every turn and opportunity has earned him the ire of Elsin, who propagates more conservative use of magic.

Lastly, relations with Zhon are practically non-existent, aside from occasional Zhonian pirates raiding the eastern shores of Aramon, no further contact has been made.

Noble houses:

The four noble houses of Aramon maintain mostly good relations with one another; armed conflicts are more of an exception than a rule. Each house had at one time held significant power in Aramon. For that reason they consider themselves equal and did not accept Elsin's rule with joy.

Strongest fighting units

  • Knight: Great attacking power, great armor, fast movement.
  • Mage archer: Best archer unit in the game, groups of these can easily take out anything the enemy throws at you.
  • Trebuchets Longest range and hardest hitting range attack there is.

Monarch

  • Elsin is the strongest monarch in the game. He has the ability to fire lightning at an enemy, or the powerful meteor, as well as a devastating earthquake attack. He also has the ability to resurrect dead units, by they his or that of another faction, and turn them to his side. He can do this from any corpse or stoned unit he finds.

Oddities

Even though Taros is the faction with the death theme, and Aramon is said to be against magic(making exceptions for its mage archers and mage builders of course), it is Aramon's leader that can bring back the dead. Taros has mind mages it can use to capture enemy units, and its leader can turn invisible.

Units added after game shipped

  • Elsin lost the ability to make war galleries and gained the ability to make a new unit, the Ark, instead.
  • Flying Pegasus was added, giving Aramon a flying build unit.
  • The Acolytes gained the ability to build a new unit, the Grenadiers.
  • Rolling Tower is a strong anti-air unit, able to load units into itself, and then unload on higher levels of terrain.
